About the Committee

The Garden Committee consists of different members from different departments, college gardeners (Mali) and Team Green-Life of students. Taking forward the sapling plantation campaign initiated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5th, 2024, and to make the plantation campaign a mass movement, a tree plantation drive was organized by the Garden Committee. The initiative aimed to enhance the green cover on campus, promote ecological balance, and raise awareness about environmental conservation among students and the community. On World Environment Day, three plants (Peepal, Jamun and Banyan) were planted. On International Tiger Day (29th July 2024), a massive plantation was taken by the garden committee near College library. From 19 th -31 st August 2024, the Garden Committee of Dyal Singh College organized a plantation drive for enhancing the green cover of the College. The Garden Committee also worked hard to participate in the 67th Annual Flower Show and other events to be held between 19th February to 28th February 2025.

Till 17 th April 200+ plants and scrubs have been planted during the 2024-25 academic session.

Also an e- magazine, “SANJIVNI’ was also launched by the Garden Committee.
